Too often I/we put ourselves in a position of total dependence on others for our daily bread, our housing, our jobs, our finances and ultimately we surrender our person. We do this because I/we believe in our hearts that whatever we want or need requires something or somebody else. We are fashioning a dependent lifestyle totally void of our personalities.
The next stage in this drama is that we learn to take no responsibility for anything and we blame everybody else for our failures or problems. We become victims.
In order to “WIN” we have to decide to be winners. We have to come to grips with the reality that nobody else is going to do it for us. Whatever we want has to be obtained by sheer will and effort that “WE” generate! Go back to basics. Roll up your sleeves and go to work. Set your heart and mind on that which you desire. Make it happen. There is no White Knight to save us. There is no Fairy god-Mother. There is no Daddy War Bucks. Nothing in this world is free.
The most devastating fear that is fixed in my psyche is that I will be beholden to somebody and they will own me. I don’t ever want to be a serf. If I do something wrong I’ll take my stripes. If I am not worthy then I will suffer the consequences. End of story!
In bodybuilding we are motivated by our own dreams, our own goals and objectives. We make a plan and we stick to it. When things are not going well, we take steps to overcome the bad times. If we do these basic things we will win. But, we have to do it because, “NOBODY ELSE WILL!”
The take home lesson in all this is that we can win all by ourselves, alone, focused, and on fire with the dream.
Remember: “NOBODY ELSE WILL—–“
